Infrastructure

Aalborg Airport is situated only 6.5 kilometres from the city centre. On weekdays, there are up to 38 daily flights between Copenhagen and Aalborg. Aalborg Airport also has direct flights to Oslo, the Faroes, Iceland, Malaga and London, with more routes on the way.

Northern Jutland has good ferry connections with Norway and Sweden, and Aalborg Harbour is the most important in Northern Denmark for shipping cargo.

Distances are travelled fast in North Jutland thanks to a well organized traffic system. The bus station and the the railway station are located next to each other in the city centre, and both are well connected to many surrounding towns as well as the other regions – commuting is therefore fairly easy.

International Upper Secondary School

Hasseris Gymnasium and IB School offers an English-based Upper Secondary Leaving Examination called The International Baccalaureate (IB). Students are normally permitted through the pre-IB class, but it is also possible to apply for admission after having completed the first year of a similar program at a foreign school. There are written examinations in all subjects, evaluated by an international teaching staff.
